My Nephew On Film

So this weekend, my brother and his wife came to town with their two month old Ezra! We decided to shoot some film while they were at my parents house. On Sunday Ezra had been feeling bad, but we decided to try and take some photos any way. We found out a little bit after taking the photos that he was cutting his first tooth! We got some good ones the first day but wanted to take some again on Monday. I love how they turned out. It was so hard to pick which photos to post.

The new parents!
The cutest baby ever!

We can all agree he is adorable right?

Teething bub!
I love this photo of Josh!
These were taken on Holga film, that takes a different ratio than normal 35mm. The negatives are perfectly fine, but their scanner scanned them in cut up! so I will have to rescan them.

Now here we get into some fun things ... I accidentally shot this roll that had already been shot on. Thankfully not well!  About two years ago I tried to test an old camera and the film wouldn't wind up properly. So I took the film into a dark bathroom and wound it back in myself, and in doing so I didn't get the film all the way back into the canister, so I thought it was just new film. But look at all this double exposed goodness.

My favorite shot of the two days! Taken exactly where they shared their first kiss as husband and wife.

This is so very much Reese.

I can't express how much I love these three people. I am so blessed to have them in my life. And are they not just the cutest family ever? Josh and I can't wait to start having kids, (well actually, we can) but until then at least we have the cutest nephew in the world!

Food Truck Friday

Today was food truck friday! Josh and I go every friday. Josh's favorite truck is called the Rolling Oven, which is a really good Italian food. I would have said a few months ago that my favorite was Thai and Mighty, which is amazing Thai bowls! But the last few weeks they have not been there and I was forced to try new things! Now I am really loving the Gastro Gnomes! They have a rotating menu, so you never know what you will get. I think its really cool that lexington is progressing so much to have something like food truck friday! I would have killed for something like this when I was in high school.  It is in the empty lot right across from A Cup of Common Wealth. If you have never been to A Cup of Common Wealth you need to go right now! You will be greeted with high fives, and maybe even a free drink if you look on the pay it forward board.

Josh bought me a Pentax k1000, and tried it out today! I am So happy with the results of this test film

This is Zach, one of our favorite ACOCW employes!

Go Outside

On Tuesday Josh and I decided to go out into a field and shoot some beautiful nature. We take so much of our time making videos for other people, that it was really nice just to do something for us. I am kind of what you would call a sun flair fanatic. there is quite literally one in every shot of this highlight video. Anyways all I really want to say is do something for yourself this week. I think we all get caught up in our work whether it is doing something we love or not. I really love shooting wedding videography, I like to think I am good at it. But we all get worn out if we don't give ourselves a break every once in a while. The song I edited to is called Go Outside, which is by the band NO. My brother Reese Richardson is their guitarist. You should all check them out if you have not heard them yet!

So here it is. My sun flair video to Go Outside. Make sure to watch it full screen!

Family Photos

So I do a bit of photography along side the videography. In may I did this family shoot. Their two year old son was fussy unless he could play with a five foot tall stick. I was a little worried when I got home, but I actually really love how they turned out.

I love this photo. You can totally tell how great of a mom she is, and how much she loves her son.

Details are my favorites.

Love this face!
